A US company has created the perfect chair for people who love to ‘bersila’
The Soul Seat has a platform and perch so you can comfortably sit cross-legged on it
Designer and founder, Pack Matthews, was frustrated with how traditional chairs left him in pain and limited the amount of sitting positions he could change to while working at the computer.
According to their website, he collaborated with a few friends and they came up with a design so unique, it is even registered in the US Patent Office.
The Soul Seat is designed to alleviate pain and muscle tightness.
The chair helps correct your posture, as sitting on its special design “tilts the pelvis forward, opens the hips, and lets the spine align to a comfortable, neutral position”.
Having practised yoga himself, Matthews said he designed the chair with yogis in mind as one of the target groups.
Being comfortable sitting on the floor is one of the fundamental ideas behind this chair that was purposely designed with no arms or back.
However, The Soul Seats come with a hefty price tag
The chairs are currently being sold for USD875 (RM3,610), and with the more luxurious wooden legs, they would cost USD1,200 (RM4,950). – SAYS
